Planning, Design & Construction (PDC)

The Planning, Design & Construction office (PDC) is responsible for the oversight of all planning, design and construction projects on campus. This includes initial project conception consulting, space planning, selection of the design team and design, selection of the contractor, budgeting, construction and project close out. PDC also provides budgeting and schedule information for capital plan and manages the Campus Master Plan process.

Space and Project Requests

Space and Project Requests are intended for any change in the allocation of existing space, requests for new space and projects involving significant construction or renovation. Examples include space for new hires, renovation of classrooms or suites of offices. Please contact Anthia Maniotes if you have any questions with space requests.

RISD Capital Planning Committee

RISD’s Campus Master Plan (CMP) plan focuses on process and planning structures as fundamental. The RISD Capital Planning Committee (RCPC) is charged with developing and executing strategy to address major capital needs including deferred maintenance, strategic plan initiatives, and both physical and technological investments. The Committee will engage and communicate with the Cabinet, Deans, and general RISD community regarding CMP projects. It will review and assess projects as they are developing, ensure alignment with the CMP and its principles, track progress on CMP goals, and recommend any modifications to the master plan.
